Jalaba harar at Sknatural is Mirabilis jalapa Linn. It belongs to family “Nyctaginaceae”. Generally, people use its leaves, seeds and root. It is warm and dry in third degree. The plant is a perennial, herbaceous, bushy species that typically reaches heights of 1 meter, occasionally up to 2 meters. Farmers can also cultivate it as an annual herb, particularly in temperate zones. The fruits are spherical, wrinkled, and black when ripe, initially greenish-yellow. Stems are thick, full, quadrangular, with numerous ramifications, and root at the nodes.
Jalaba Harar is a knotty root of a plant that is the color of turnips. It is black from the outside and yellowish from the inside. You can commonly find it in the mountainous regions of Mexico (America) and India during the summer season. If the root is large, it is cut into two or four pieces. Its odor is like that of smoke.
